What are you gearing up for in this new season?

There is something about the end of August that always feels like standing on the edge of a new beginning.

September has this quiet power. It is not officially a new year, but it feels like one. I have always felt that the back-to-school energy, the earlier sunsets, or the sudden craving for routine after a long, hot summer signals for me the start of a new year, a new beginning. Whatever it is, September signals a reset. A shift. A chance to refocus. Sonya’s Blog previously covered this thought. Read it here.

So, the question I am asking is: what are you gearing up for?

This time of year, is the perfect moment to pause, regroup, and revisit the goals we set at the start of the year. It is a second wind. A built-in opportunity to recalibrate before the calendar flips to Q4.

As an entrepreneur and business owner, this season always reminds me to get clear on three things:

  1. Goals – How am I tracking on the big-picture outcomes that I still want to achieve this year?

  2. Objectives – What are some of the smaller wins or benchmarks I can achieve that will help me move closer to my goals?

  3. Targets – What action steps need to be taken to make those objectives real?

But here is the twist: I am not just thinking about what I want to accomplish. I am also thinking about what I want to do differently. Because starting a new season is not just about restarting old habits. It is about refreshing your mindset, your approach, and your energy.

So, I am asking myself and you:

  • What worked well so far this year?

  • What was a burn-out or distraction?

  • What do I want more of? What do I need to release?

Maybe for you, that means finally launching that idea you have been sitting on. Or scaling back on things that no longer align with where you are going. Maybe it means waking up earlier. Delegating more. Saying no with confidence. Saying yes with intention.

Whatever it looks like, September is a new season.

It is not about perfection it is about purpose. It is about making small, intentional changes that create momentum as we enter the final stretch of the year.

For me, that means getting sharper with my time. Tightening my priorities. Being honest about where I am pouring my energy and who I am showing up for. It means staying committed to the vision I set at the beginning of the year while giving myself permission to evolve.

Whether you are running a business, juggling a side hustle, raising a family, or simply trying to stay centered, this season is your invitation to realign with what matters most.

So I will ask again: What are you gearing up for?

A new project? A renewed mindset? A finish-strong attitude?

Whatever it is let September be your unofficial new year. Let it be the reminder you did not know you needed. Let it be the push to go after your version of success with clarity and confidence. So, get ready to gear up for the new season!
