Spring Ahead: Preparing Your Small Business for Q2

As the days get longer and the clocks spring forward, for me it is a great time to pause and reflect on Q1 business.  This helps to prepare for Q2. The shift to daylight saving time symbolizes sunshine, more energy and longer days.  For my business that translates into growth, renewal, and fresh starts. It is positive momentum to enter the second calendar phase of the year.

As a small business owner, this gives me a great chance to see if my goals are on track.  Am I moving forward according to plan? Do I need to pivot? What is working or more importantly what isn’t working? Are my goals realistic?

Spring brings a shift in my attitude and behavior and I believe most people are looking forward to warmer weather, and depending on the industry, may be more inclined to make certain types of purchases or book specific services now.  If you are like me and offer services for the business-to-business industry, executives have a better idea of where their companies are heading now, that the first quarter is behind them.  This is perfect timing to connect with both new and old customers.

Every quarter, I take valuable time because it’s worth it to evaluate and optimize my business processes; especially with software and apps.  Are they really helping my business?  Should I consider investing in software or apps that are more effective, efficient and perhaps less costly?

For me, spring is all about renewal, and for small businesses, the start of Q2 presents a chance to reset and prepare for the next quarter. So, stop, take the time to reevaluate your goals, and review your processes.  This will help to set your business up for success in the months ahead.

Welcome the sunshine, the longer days and the renewed energy of the season, and use this time to breathe new life into your business! If you need help in developing your business, marketing or event strategy, please give me a call and let’s talk. Good luck!
